WordPress SEO Services
A WordPress site with the right plugin settings, clean URLs, faster pages and internal links that point search engines to the pages you care about.
What's included
- A review of your theme, page builder and every active plugin, with SEO and speed impact noted
- SEO plugin setup or cleanup (Yoast, Rank Math or similar): titles, sitemaps, archives and social tags
- Permalink structure checked and, where a change is worth it, redirects mapped for every old URL
- Speed work: caching, image compression, script loading and heavy page builder output
- Index cleanup for tag, category, author, date and attachment archives that add nothing
- Schema for your business, services and articles, without duplicate output from several plugins
- An internal linking plan between service pages, location pages and blog posts
- On-page optimization of titles, headings and copy on your key pages
Who it's for
WordPress runs a large share of small business websites, from service companies and clinics to law firms, consultants and WooCommerce shops. It is flexible, which is its strength and also why so many WordPress sites have hidden SEO problems.
Our WordPress SEO services suit you if any of this sounds familiar:
- A developer built the site years ago, and nobody has checked the SEO settings since.
- You have two or three SEO plugins installed because each one did something the others didn't.
- The site feels slow on a phone, and you suspect the theme, page builder or plugins.
- Google is indexing tag pages, author archives, attachment pages or old test pages.
- Your blog posts don't link to your service pages, so they bring visitors who never find what you sell.
- The "Discourage search engines" box was ticked on launch, or a staging copy was left open to crawlers.
- You publish regularly, but new posts take a long time to appear in Google or don't appear at all.
SEO for WordPress isn't about installing the right plugin. It's about making the settings, the theme and the content work together. If you're thinking about starting over with a new site, our SEO web design team can help with that instead.
How we do it
- 1
Identify what the site is built on. We start with technology detection, which identifies the software and services a website is running. Combined with a look inside your dashboard, that gives us a full picture: theme, page builder, plugins, hosting, analytics and third-party scripts. Many WordPress problems come from how these pieces interact, so this step shapes everything after it.
Technology detection - 2
Clean up plugins. We list every plugin with what it does, whether it's needed, and whether it affects speed or SEO. Duplicates and abandoned plugins are flagged for removal. Where two plugins both output meta tags, sitemaps or schema, we pick one and switch the other feature off.
- 3
Configure the SEO plugin properly. Title and description templates for each post type, which archives should be indexed, XML sitemap contents, breadcrumbs, and social sharing tags. We check Settings > Reading and Settings > Permalinks while we're there, since a single wrong setting on either screen can undo everything else.
- 4
Fix permalinks and redirects. If URLs contain dates, IDs or long category chains that don't help, we recommend a structure and, only if you agree, map every old URL to its new one with 301 redirects. We also find existing broken links and redirect chains and fix them.
- 5
Make the site faster. Page speed testing measures your key pages on mobile and desktop and shows which resources are slowing them. On WordPress, the usual fixes are page caching, properly sized and compressed images, loading scripts only where they're used, fewer web fonts, and reducing the extra markup page builders produce. We retest after each round of changes.
Page speed testing - 6
Optimize the pages that matter. We run your main service, location and product pages through on-page checks, which compare titles, headings, content and other elements against each page's target keyword. Then we rewrite titles and headings, fill content gaps, and add schema for your business, services and articles.
On-page checks - 7
Build internal links. We map how your pages should connect: blog posts point to the relevant service, service pages link to each other where it helps the reader, and important pages sit close to the home page in your menus.
- 8
Confirm it with Google. Once changes are live, we submit the updated sitemap in Google Search Console, request indexing for key pages, and watch coverage reports for pages Google has dropped or can't reach. If an update to a plugin or theme undoes one of our fixes later, this is usually where it shows up first.
Good WordPress SEO also depends on what happens after we finish. Plugin and theme updates can quietly change settings, so we note which ones to recheck after major updates and keep the list short enough that you'll actually use it.
What you receive
Before we change anything, you receive a written WordPress audit covering settings, plugins, theme, speed, indexing and on-page issues, with each item ranked by priority.
As work is completed, you get:
- A plugin report showing what we kept, removed or reconfigured, and why
- A redirect map, if any URLs changed
- Mobile and desktop speed results for your key pages, before and after
- A change log of the titles, headings and content we edited on each page
- An internal linking map you can keep following when you publish new posts
At the end of the project, we send a summary and a short checklist for keeping the site healthy as you add pages and update plugins. If you'd like us to handle updates and backups going forward, that's covered by our website maintenance services.

Frequently asked questions

I already have Yoast or Rank Math installed. Isn't that enough?
An SEO plugin is a set of controls, not a strategy. Installed with default settings, it can leave thin archive pages indexed, output generic titles and duplicate schema that your theme also adds. We configure it for your site and then do the work the plugin can't: keyword targeting, content, internal links and speed.
Should I change my permalink structure?
Only if the current one is causing a real problem, such as dates or ID numbers in URLs for pages that should be evergreen. Changing permalinks changes every URL on the site, so we map a 301 redirect for each one and check them after launch. If your structure is workable, we leave it alone.
Will you slow my site down with more plugins?
We usually remove plugins rather than add them. We look for plugins that are inactive, abandoned, duplicate another plugin or load code on pages that don't use them. When a plugin is needed, we choose one that does the job with as little overhead as possible.
My site uses Elementor, Divi or another page builder. Can you still help?
Yes. Page builders can add a lot of extra code, but most sites don't need to be rebuilt to improve. We tune builder settings, trim unused widgets and fonts, and improve caching. If the builder is the main thing holding the site back, we'll tell you plainly and explain your options.
Do you need admin access?
For most of the work, yes. We ask for a separate administrator or editor account rather than your own login, and we recommend a full backup before any changes. Where possible we test risky changes on a staging copy first.
Do you also build WordPress websites?
Yes. If your site needs a new theme or a rebuild rather than fixes, see our WordPress website design service. For sites that are in good shape, WordPress SEO work on the existing build is usually the better value.
When will I see results?
We can't give a date or promise specific rankings. Technical and speed fixes show up in test results right away, but how search rankings respond depends on your content, your competitors and your market.
