Who it's for

A plumber fitting pipes under a sink

This service is built for businesses where one brand serves customers from several addresses:

  • Franchise brands that need every franchisee visible locally while keeping the brand consistent
  • Regional chains such as dental groups, urgent care clinics, veterinary practices, auto service centers, fitness studios and restaurant groups
  • Home service companies with several branches, where each office covers its own territory
  • Professional firms with multiple offices, like law, accounting or insurance agencies
  • Growing businesses opening their second or third location and wanting to set it up properly from day one

The problems at this scale look different from single-location SEO. The same issues repeat across every branch, and some only appear because there are many locations:

  • Profiles were created by different managers at different times, with inconsistent names, categories and photos
  • Some locations have no profile, others have two, and a closed branch still shows as open
  • The website has one "Locations" page with a list of addresses and nothing else
  • Franchisees own their profiles, so when one leaves, the brand loses that location's reviews
  • Nobody at head office can see which locations are strong and which are invisible

Multi-location SEO fixes the whole system so each branch can compete in its own area, and so the brand can see all of it in one place. If you have a single location, our local SEO services are the better fit.

How we do it

  1. 1

    1. Inventory and ownership

We build a spreadsheet of every location: address, phone, hours, profile status, owner, category and review count. We check which profiles the brand controls and which it doesn't, and we find duplicates and closed branches. Where a group qualifies, Google offers bulk verification for businesses with many locations, and we handle that process.

  2. 2

    2. Set the standard

We agree a single standard with you: how each location is named on Google, which primary and secondary categories apply to which kind of branch, photo requirements, description structure, and the tone for review replies. Then we apply it to every profile, while keeping the details genuinely local.

  3. 3

    3. Location pages that earn their place

Each location gets its own page on your website, linked from a crawlable locator or locations hub. We write each page around that branch: its team, services, hours, parking, the neighborhoods it serves and reviews from its own customers. Where a franchise uses a shared website platform, we work within its templates and advise on changes if the templates make unique pages impossible.

  4. 4

    4. Citations per location

Every location needs its own consistent listings on the main directories and industry sites, with that branch's own address and phone number. We build and correct them location by location, beginning with the branches that have the most errors. The detail of the process is on our local citation building page.

  5. 5

    5. Reviews across the network

We set up a review request link and QR code for each location and write replies in the agreed brand voice. Complaints that need action are routed to the right manager rather than head office guessing.

  6. 6

    6. Track every location

We run map ranking grid scans for each location's own service area, so you can compare branches fairly. A downtown office and a suburban one will have very different maps, and we judge each against its own local competitors. When one branch falls behind the others, the grid usually shows whether the cause is local competition, a profile problem or a gap in that location's page, and we adjust the work for that branch rather than changing the whole network.

    7. Report to everyone who needs it

We produce white-label reports for each location, carrying your brand, which you can send to franchisees or branch managers, plus a combined report for head office.

What you receive

At the start, you receive the location inventory spreadsheet, the brand standard document for profiles and reviews, and a priority list showing which locations need the most urgent work.

Every month after that, you receive:

  • A combined report with every location's map visibility, review count, average rating and listing status in one table
  • Per-location reports with the map grid, work completed and recommended next steps, branded for sharing with managers or franchisees
  • A change log of profile edits, new location pages, citations built and reviews answered, grouped by location

When you open a new location, we add it to the program: profile, page, citations and tracking, following the same standard as the rest. When you close one, we mark it properly on Google and the main directories so customers aren't sent to an empty building.

Who should own the Google Business Profiles, the franchisor or the franchisees?

It depends on your franchise agreement, but we usually recommend that the brand owns every profile in a single organization account, with each franchisee added as a manager of their own location. That way, when a location changes hands, the profile and its reviews stay with the brand. If franchisees already own their profiles, we can help you set up transfers where both sides agree.

Can we use one phone number and one website page for all locations?

It's much better not to. Each location needs its own local phone number and its own page, so Google can connect the right profile, listings and reviews to the right place. A single central number and one generic locations page make it harder for each branch to appear in its own area.

Do location pages have to be unique for each location?

Yes. Pages that are identical except for the city name give search engines little reason to rank them and give visitors little reason to trust them. We build each page around real details: the address and hours, the team, services offered at that branch, parking or access, nearby landmarks and reviews from that location.

How does local SEO for multiple locations work when two branches are close together?

Nearby branches can end up competing for the same searches. We give each one a clear service area, a distinct page and its own citations, and we track both on the map so we can see where one is crowding out the other. Sometimes the answer is to focus each location on the services it's strongest in.

Can you work alongside our in-house marketing team?

Yes. Many multi-location businesses keep brand, advertising and social media in house and hand us the local search work. We agree who owns which tasks, like approving location photos or replying to escalated reviews, so nothing is done twice or missed.

Can franchisees get their own reports?

Yes. Each location can receive its own report showing its map rankings, reviews and listing status, while head office gets the combined view. The reports can carry your brand, so franchisees see them as part of your support.
