Who it's for
For most local businesses, the Google Business Profile is the first thing a new customer sees, before they ever visit your website. It shows your hours, phone number, photos, reviews and a map pin in one panel. When it is incomplete or wrong, people move on to the next listing.
This service fits you if any of these sound familiar:
- You never set it up properly. The profile exists because Google or a customer created it, but it has one category, no services, no description and a handful of photos from years ago.
- It's out of date. Old hours, a phone number you no longer answer, or an address from before you moved.
- You can't get in. A former manager, a previous marketing company or a relative set it up, and nobody knows the login.
- There are two of you. Duplicate profiles split your reviews and confuse Google about which one is real.
- It's quiet. No posts, no replies to reviews, no new photos. Your competitors' profiles look busy by comparison.
We handle Google Business Profile management for contractors, home service companies, clinics, dental and medical practices, law offices, salons, restaurants, retailers and other businesses that serve a local area. Service-area businesses that work at customers' homes and don't want their address shown are set up differently from storefronts, and we make sure yours is configured the right way for Google's rules.
How we do it
- 1
1. Access and cleanup
We get you in control first. That might mean a simple invite to our team as a manager, or a formal ownership request if someone else holds the profile. Then we search for duplicates, old listings from previous addresses and unverified copies, and request that Google remove or merge them.
- 2
2. Categories and services
The primary category is one of the strongest settings on your profile. We compare your options with the categories used by the businesses that appear above you, then pick the one that best describes your main line of work, followed by secondary categories for the rest. A dental office might pick "Dentist" as primary and add "Cosmetic dentist" and "Emergency dental service". Then we fill in the services list so each service has its own name and short description.

3. Description, details and attributes
We write a description that tells a customer who you are, what you do and where you work, without stuffing it with keywords. We set regular and holiday hours, service areas, your website and booking links, and the attributes that apply to you, like wheelchair access or online estimates.
- 4
4. Photos
We check what's on the profile now, including photos uploaded by customers, and plan what's missing. We'll ask you for real photos of your storefront, team, vehicles and completed work. Stock images don't help, and we won't use them. If a customer has uploaded a photo that is misleading or shows a different business, we report it through Google's own process. A phone camera in good daylight is usually all you need, and we'll send you a short shot list so you know what to capture on your next few jobs.
- 5
5. Weekly activity
Each week we publish a post about a service, a recent project, a seasonal tip or an offer. We add new photos as you send them, monitor questions where Google shows that feature, and write replies to new reviews in your voice.
- 6
6. Monitoring
Map ranking grid scans track where your profile appears in the Map Pack for your main searches across your area, so we can see whether changes to categories and content are having an effect. Brand and media monitoring watches for mentions of your business name across the web, which helps us catch new listings, copies of your details and conversations that need a response.

What you receive
When the cleanup is done, we send you a before-and-after summary: every field we changed, the categories we chose and why, the duplicates we reported and the photos we still need from you.
After that, each month you receive:
- A list of the posts we published, with links
- The photos we added
- Every review we replied to, and any we flagged to you for a personal response
- Any public edits we found and corrected
- Your map rankings for tracked searches, compared with the previous month
If Google sends a verification request, a suspension notice or an ownership request, we tell you right away and explain what we need from you. You also get a short list of anything we're waiting on from your side, such as new photos, holiday hours or details about a service you've just added, so nothing sits unanswered.

What does GMB optimization mean now that it's called Google Business Profile?
It's the same thing. Google renamed Google My Business to Google Business Profile, but many people still search for GMB optimization. The work is filling out and maintaining your listing so it is accurate, complete and active, which is what helps it appear in Maps and the local results.
My profile is suspended or I can't get access. Can you help?
Often, yes. If a former employee or an old agency owns the profile, we walk you through Google's ownership request process. If it is suspended, we look for the likely cause, such as an address that doesn't meet Google's rules or keywords added to the business name, fix it, and help you file a reinstatement request. Google makes the final decision, so we can't promise the outcome.
Should I add keywords to my business name on Google?
No. Your profile name should match your real business name as it appears on your signage and paperwork. Stuffing it with services and cities breaks Google's guidelines and can lead to suspension, and competitors can report it. We put your keywords in the places Google allows: categories, services, the description and posts.
Why do you post every week? Does anyone read Google posts?
Some customers do see them, especially when they open your profile to compare you with others. More importantly, regular posts, photos and replies show that the business is active and give you a place to mention specific services and areas. We keep posts useful, like a recent job, a seasonal reminder or a new service, rather than filler.
Someone changed my hours without asking me. How did that happen?
Google lets the public and its own systems suggest edits to business profiles, and some changes go live without the owner approving them. That's why we monitor your profile and check it regularly. When a wrong edit appears, we correct it and keep a record of what changed.
Do I have to give you my Google login?
No. You add us as a manager on your profile from inside Google, and you stay the primary owner. You can remove our access at any time, and the profile, its photos and its reviews remain yours.
Is a one-time setup enough, or does the profile need ongoing management?
A one-time cleanup fixes errors and fills in what's missing, and that alone can make a difference for a neglected profile. But profiles drift: the public suggests edits, reviews arrive and need replies, and competitors keep adding photos and posts. That's why we treat Google Business Profile management as ongoing work within the monthly plans rather than a single task.
