- Analytics and form notifications sent to your email
Who it's for
This service is for owner-run local businesses that need a website that does the basics very well: explain the business, earn trust and make it easy to call or ask for a quote. Think plumbers, electricians, landscapers, cleaners, salons, dentists, accountants, bakeries, auto shops and similar businesses serving a town or region.
It is a good fit if:
- You have no website yet, or only a Facebook page and a Google Business Profile.
- Your site is years old, hard to read on a phone, and you cringe when you send people to it.
- You get calls, but have no idea whether the website had anything to do with them.
- Your site was made by a relative or a builder platform and you have outgrown it.
- You need something done properly without learning web design, SEO and hosting yourself.
You don't need a large site. Most small businesses need a handful of well-written pages that answer customers' questions, show real work and put the phone number within reach. That is what we build.
If search rankings are the main reason for the project and you expect to compete for many services or cities, look at our SEO web design service, which starts with a full keyword plan. If you need a store, booking system or custom features, see website development services or ecommerce website design.
How we do it
We keep the process simple and your time commitment small. You make the decisions that only you can make, and we take care of everything else.
- 1
A getting-to-know-you call. We ask about your services, the areas you cover, your best customers, what makes you different and what you want visitors to do. We look at a few competitors so we know how local customers compare options in your trade.
- 2
Local search check. Using map ranking grid scans, we look at how your business currently appears in local results and on the map, and which nearby competitors show up for your main services. This tells us which services and towns to mention prominently, and whether your business details are consistent online.
Map ranking grid scans - 3
Page plan and content. We propose a short list of pages. For each, we either edit what you send us or write the copy from our call notes. Pages are written in plain language, in the order customers need it: what you do, where, why they can trust you, and how to get in touch.
- 4
Design. We design the home page and a service page first and share them with you. Once you are happy with the look, we apply it across the site. Every page gets a visible phone number, a click-to-call button on mobile and a short form.
- 5
Build and set up tracking. We build the site, connect the forms to your email, set up call tracking and install analytics. We add local business schema and write page titles and meta descriptions that mention your service and area.
- 6
Speed check. We run the key pages through page speed testing and fix what slows them down, usually oversized images and unused scripts. Many local searches happen on phones with patchy signal, so this step matters.
Page speed testing - 7
Review and launch. You review the full site, we make your changes, and then we launch. We link the site to your Google Business Profile, submit it to Google Search Console and test every form and phone link on a real phone.
What you receive
At launch you receive:
- Your live website, with every page reviewed and approved by you.
- All logins in your name: domain, hosting, website admin, analytics and Search Console.
- A launch checklist confirming forms, call tracking, click-to-call, schema and analytics were tested.
- Page speed test results for your home page and main service page.
- A short video or call walking you through editing, so you can update hours, prices, photos and text yourself.
- A simple monthly summary option: if you add our website maintenance services, you get a regular note on updates, backups and site health.
You will also have call tracking and form data from the first day, so after a few months you can see how many enquiries the website produces instead of guessing. How many that will be depends on your market, your competition and your reviews, but you will be able to measure it.
Pricing: custom quote after a free review
Small business website design is quoted after a free review. The quote depends mainly on how many pages you need and whether we write the copy, and it is itemized so there are no surprises.

How is this different from building a site myself on a website builder?
Builders are fine for getting something online, but most owners end up with a generic layout, weak page titles, slow pages and no plan for how visitors turn into calls. We handle the structure, copy, speed, local SEO setup and tracking, which are the parts builders leave to you. You also get a design made for your business rather than a theme thousands of others use.
Will I be able to update the site myself?
Yes. We build on a platform you can edit, and we show you how to change text, swap photos, update hours and add a new service. If you would rather not touch it, our maintenance service can handle edits for you.
What does call tracking involve?
We place a tracking number on the website that forwards to your normal business line, so customers reach you exactly as before. It lets you see how many calls came from the site and when. Your main number stays the same on your Google Business Profile and directory listings, so your local listings stay consistent.
Do you include local SEO?
We include the local SEO groundwork: consistent business details, a service area page, local business schema, page titles written for local searches and a connection to your Google Business Profile. Ongoing work such as citations, reviews and regular content is a separate service, and you can add it later if you want it.
I don't have good photos. Is that a problem?
It is common. We can work with phone photos you take of your team, vehicles and finished jobs, and we will give you a short list of what to shoot. Real photos of your work usually build more trust than stock images, so we use stock sparingly.
Who owns the website when it is finished?
You do. The domain, hosting account and site files are in your name, and we hand over every login at launch. If you ever move to another provider, you take the whole site with you.
Can the site grow as my business grows?
Yes. We build page layouts you can reuse, so adding a new service, a new town you cover or a gallery of recent jobs doesn't mean starting over. If you later want a blog, online booking or more location pages, the site is set up to take them. We can add them for you, or show you how.
