Virtual Receptionist Services

A virtual receptionist that answers 24/7, books appointments and transfers important calls to you, set up and managed for you without hiring anyone.

A virtual receptionist answers your business phone without sitting at a desk in your office. Some services use remote staff. Ours is an AI: it answers in a natural ElevenLabs voice, handles the questions you would normally field yourself, and sends you every caller's details the moment the call ends.

We set it up, write or fill in the script, connect your phone and review calls every month. You don't hire, train or schedule anyone, and you don't manage software. Further down this page is an honest comparison with the other ways to get your phone answered, so you can decide what suits your business.

How it works

  1. 1

We get to know your business: services, area, hours, booking rules and the questions callers ask most.

  2. 2

We connect your line, either by forwarding your current number or setting up a new one, and pick a voice with you.

  3. 3

It answers 24/7. Each caller's details are texted and emailed to you as soon as the call ends.

  4. 4

We improve it monthly by reviewing calls and updating the script.

What it does

  • Answers every call in your business name, with no hold music.

  • Captures each caller's name, number and what they need.

  • Books appointments into your calendar on Pro and Business.

  • Transfers live calls to you or your team during business hours on Pro and Business.

  • Sends emergency alerts on Pro and Business for calls that can't wait.

  • Screens out spam and robocalls, ending them in seconds.

  • Keeps a recording and transcript of every call.

  • Includes the website chatbot, with 500 chats a month.

  • Answers in English and Spanish, across up to 2 numbers or locations, on Business.

AI, human answering service or in-house staff?

There are three common ways to make sure your phone gets answered. Each has real strengths, and the right choice depends on your business.

AI virtual receptionist Human answering service In-house receptionist
Availability 24/7, including holidays Depends on the service and plan Your office hours, minus breaks and time off
Busy periods Picks up straight away, no hold music Callers may wait on hold One call at a time
Knowledge of your business What we set up and refine monthly A script, often shared across several agents Deep, and grows over time
Unusual situations Takes a message or transfers Agents can use some judgment Full judgment and relationships
Tasks beyond the phone Website chat included Usually phone only Anything you train them to do
Records Recording and transcript of every call Varies by provider Only what they write down

Where an AI receptionist is strongest

It is consistent. It gives the same accurate answer at 3 a.m. as at 10 a.m., never has an off day and never forgets to ask for a phone number. Every call is recorded and transcribed, so nothing depends on someone's handwriting. And it is a set monthly plan with no hiring, training, payroll or cover to arrange.

Where a person is still better

People are better at the unexpected: an upset customer, a complicated negotiation, a regular who wants to chat. An in-house receptionist can also greet visitors, take payments and do the dozens of small tasks that keep an office running. A good human answering service brings some of that judgment too.

Using both

You may not need to choose. An AI receptionist can cover lunch breaks, sick days, evenings and weekends, while your staff handle the daytime calls that need a personal touch. On Pro and Business, calls that need a person can be transferred live during business hours.

Questions to ask any provider

Whichever route you take, these questions help you compare fairly:

  • What happens when a caller asks for a person?
  • Do I get a recording or transcript, or only a written message?
  • How quickly do messages reach me, and by what channel?
  • Who updates the script when my hours or services change?
  • What happens if I go over my plan, and is there a contract?
  • Can I hear it working before I pay?

Our answers are in the FAQ below. For the last one, call (866) 571-4320 and talk to our AI receptionist yourself.

Who it's for

A virtual receptionist is a good fit when your call volume is too high to ignore but too uneven, or too small, to justify a full-time hire.

  • Contractors and home service companies whose office is a truck, and whose calls spike on Monday mornings and after storms.
  • Clinics and practices that want an overflow line when the front desk is busy and cover after the office closes.
  • Law firms and professional offices where a missed new-client call can go straight to a competitor.
  • Restaurants that want reservation and hours questions handled without pulling staff off the floor.
  • Growing businesses that already have a receptionist but need someone answering at lunch, on sick days and after hours.

It works alongside a person as well as instead of one.

Frequently asked questions

Want to hear it first? Call (866) 571-4320.

Is a virtual receptionist a real person?

Ours is an AI, not a person. It uses a natural ElevenLabs voice, and if a caller asks whether they are speaking to a human, it says it is an AI assistant. Some other virtual receptionist services use remote human staff, which is why we compare both on this page.

Can it replace my receptionist?

For some businesses, yes, especially where the job is mostly answering questions, taking messages and booking appointments. Where the role includes greeting walk-ins, handling payments or judgment calls, an AI works better as back-up for the person you have.

Can I keep my number?

Yes. You forward your existing number to the receptionist, all the time or only when you can't answer. You can also use a new number we set up.

What if a caller wants a human?

On Pro and Business it can transfer the caller live to you or your team during business hours. Otherwise it takes a full message and texts and emails it to you straight away.

Does it work with my calendar?

On Pro and Business it books appointments directly into your calendar based on your availability and the appointment types you set. We check your calendar setup when we onboard you.

What if I go over my minutes?

Calls are still answered, and extra minutes are billed at the rate shown in the plan table. We will tell you if a different plan would suit your volume better.

Can I try it without a long commitment?

Yes. There is no setup fee, plans are month to month, and every receptionist plan comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
